Anyway, back on topic. I personally believe that there should be more than just one more major skill balance. They should be rolling out skill balances weekly. Changing things, seeing how they work, seeing what's over powered, what's not worth using, and changing those as well.

Because we haven't had a skill balance in such a long time, gvg and ha builds have virtually stagnated. There's hardly any innovation, since if you want to run x, y, and z; and everybody else runs a, b, and c, because a, b, and c are just better, you will get rolled. There's really just a set of builds to be used. Everybody does have 8 skill slots, but now there's just some builds which are so much better than others, that there's no reason to use anything else.

Just my opinion.

yeah, only major ballance they need to do is revert all skills back to the way the were released for PVE use then admit PVP and PVE are 2 separate games and seeing that they offer a PVP only version of the game make it so when you enter PVP areas the nerfed version of the skill loads. if they can make it so PVE only skills cant load in a PVP area they damn sure can make this happen. but i know GW2 is their their biggest concern so why do anything major for the customer base in GW1 that they hope will buy GW2

Yes, except purpose-specific like running and farming builds, most of all other PvE builds come from PvP fields with some modifications. And yes, even Terra tanks came from old old PvP Stone Dagger Mesmers.

PvP needs a skill balance for sure, PvE can use whatever PvP is left for it, cause PvE environment is so predictable you don't need a critical skill balance, ever.

I don't mean to sound rash, but I believe that the only skill balance that should be done, is to take all the nerfed skills and return them back to their original stats, and all the buffed skills can be left as is. Also soul reaping should be returned to it's original stats as well. Then let everyone have at it.

Let's face facts, skill balance is just a bullshit term that Anet created to force players to come up with new build types so the game does not get boring. The problem is that the player base it smarter and more efficent then Anet is creative. For every nerf, players came up with better builds to counter. Now we are at the end of the line and Anet has abanden GW to put all there energy into GW2. So I say return it to the way it was, and let the community have at it.

It would be interesting to see how Iway can counter spiritway, or paragonspike, counter legoway, so on and so forth.

Because we all know that HA is the most popular form of PvP, and that skill balance is done for the majority over the minority.

Anet didn't create the term Skill Balance.

I always dread these 'big' skill balance updates.

They so often nerf good skills into becoming 'no longer worth using' skills.

I dread it more after so long of not having one and having got comfortable with my current selection of PvE builds.

I know that it is often PvP that dictates the changes and that doesnt do anything to make me like them any better, but i know they need to happen.

Here's hoping that we get more buffs than nerfs and they generally leave the PvE only skills alone (after all, that was part of the point of them), unless it is to buff them or restore the function of some of those so horribly nerfed.

At least in GW2 they are talking about seperating PvE and PvP completely as far as skills go.
